Do you have an idea for a social enterprise that you’ve been itching to turn into reality?

Are you based in Estonia, Latvia, or Lithuania and looking for an opportunity to take your business idea to the next level?

If so, then Impact Hackathon is the place to transform your idea into reality.

Impact Hackathon is a two-week virtual event that brings together aspiring social entrepreneurs from across the Baltic states to develop early-stage business ideas with a social impact. The hackathon takes place from May 12th to May 26th 2023. The hackathon is completely virtual and will take place online via Zoom.

During the two-week hackathon, each team will have their own mentor who will help with anything that you need during the 2 weeks. Participants will also have the opportunity to participate in different workshops to get a good start for their enterprise. In the first week, there will be workshops on business plan, market research, and prototyping, while the second week will focus on marketing, sales, and pitching.

Impact Hackathon is the perfect opportunity to turn your social enterprise idea into a reality. You will have access to expert mentors who will help you refine your business plan, conduct market research, and develop a prototype.

During the hackathon, you will participate in various workshops that will equip you with essential skills for launching and running a successful social enterprise. You will learn about marketing, sales, pitching, and more, giving you the tools you need to turn your idea into a successful business.
Network with experts and fellow social entrepreneurs

Throughout the hackathon, you will have the opportunity to network with experienced mentors and other social entrepreneurs from Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. This will give you the chance to learn from their experiences, gain insights, and build meaningful connections in the social entrepreneurship community.
Chance to be fast-tracked to an accelerator

The best team at the Impact Hackathon will get the chance to be fast-tracked to an accelerator program, where they will receive additional support to help take their social enterprise to the next level. By participating in the accelerator, you will receive personalized mentoring, access to funding opportunities, and valuable resources to help you scale your business.

Process of the hackathon

Applying: To apply, simply contact the email listed about the teams by 10.05 below. If you see a fit with the idea and person/people needed for the team, then introduce yourself and why you want to join the team within the email. The team will then decide themselves if they accept you.

Hackathon: The Impact Hackathon will take place online via Zoom from 12.05-26.05.

Once the hackathon begins, you’ll be placed in a team with other participants and assigned a mentor to guide you through the process. You’ll have the opportunity to participate in workshops covering business plan development, market research, prototyping, marketing, sales, and pitching. You’ll also have regular check-ins with your mentor to help you refine your idea and make progress on your goals.

Winner: At the end of the hackathon, the best three teams will be selected based on the strength of their idea and the progress they’ve made over the two-week period. The winning team can be fast-tracked into the accelerator program, which will help them take the next steps to launch their social enterprise.

Idea: Space4Parking offers a mobile app where anyone can rent their privatized parking spaces and drivers can rent these spaces for any time. An hour, a day or even a month. The app allows drivers to choose from a variety of offers and find the best price for themselves. The app also allows anyone with free space to earn money.

Who do they need: IT Specialist. A person who can help develop a mobile app.

Idea: Medica-Talk is a Medical AI chatbot tool, to improve the communication related to language barrier.

AuxiCare

Idea: AuxiCare is a revolutionary digital health platform that seamlessly connects patients with healthcare providers, prioritizing accessibility, inclusivity, and personalized care.

Who do they need: Senior engineer (CTO), Software development, artificial intelligence/machine learning, data analysis, and user experience design. Additionally, having individuals with experience in healthcare, such as doctors, nurses, and nutritionists, would be valuable to ensure that the solution meets the needs of both patients and healthcare providers.

Teachers’ Peer Support Circles

Idea: Psychologically long lasting self organizing safe spaces, where educators can openly share their experiences and daily burdens so that they replenish their inner resources and feel emotionally stronger in their jobs.

Who do they need: More psychologist and mentors, also any help with finances, marketing, advertising, web designer and so on.
